Cooking is a creative expression of love for most families. When I cook, I want really good recipes that my family will enjoy, and won't stress me out at supper time. My goal is for time spent in the kitchen to be memorable teaching moments with my kiddos... full of love, laughter, and great conversation! At the same time, the kids are learning to prepare meals and learn a little math in the best school they could attend... our kitchen! Let's get cookin' and share some recipes! :)
UPDATE:
I am turning this blog over to my sweet Emma who will share some of her recipes for kids. Welcome, Emma! :)

Whole Wheat Peach Cobbler

Have you ever gotten out of bed in the middle of the night and stepped on a toy that scared the heebie jeebies out of ya??  While retrieving a baking pan,
this toy laughed at me...and yep... I jumped!!
I just love and adore my sweet daughter,
and all her creative ideas for baby beds. :)

I LOVE this Peach Cobbler Recipe.
My dear Tulsa friend Angie shared this with me years ago... a healthier (HA!!) version of one of my fav desserts... which as usual, I've tweaked a little.

Whole Wheat Peach Cobbler

Preheat 375
1 Stick real butter
1 cup freshly milled whole wheat
1 cup sucanat with honey (also called honey golden crystals... I suppose you could use white sugar, but not as healthy, I would rather use local honey than sugar for this recipe! :)
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 cup milk
3 cups of peaches in juice

Melt butter in 9X12 glass pan.
Mix dry ingredients and milk in bowl.
Heat peaches, sweeten if necessary.
Pour batter over butter in dish and sprinkle a little more cinnamon on top.
Pour peaches on top, and bake for about 30 minutes.

Oh my goodness this is awesome!!
