Cooking is a creative expression of love for most families. When I cook, I want really good recipes that my family will enjoy, and won't stress me out at supper time. My goal is for time spent in the kitchen to be memorable teaching moments with my kiddos... full of love, laughter, and great conversation! At the same time, the kids are learning to prepare meals and learn a little math in the best school they could attend... our kitchen! Let's get cookin' and share some recipes! :)
UPDATE:
I am turning this blog over to my sweet Emma who will share some of her recipes for kids. Welcome, Emma! :)

Whole Wheat Pizza and Dough using Bread Machine

I lost my original pizza recipe.  I almost cried.  But the Lord was so good in helping me to put together another one.. along with making it tons easier using my bread machine!

This is SO much better, I LOVE it!!
The crust is much thinner and softer, and so warm & yummy!

Ingredients:
1 1/2 c. hot water
1/2 c. olive oil
1/2 c. honey
Mix well, then add the dry:
4 1/2 c. fresh milled wheat flour
2 tsp. sea salt
1 pkg. yeast
1 heaping Tablespoon Lecithin (or maybe 1 egg instead??)

Mix, and put in bread machine on "dough" cycle.  Mine takes about 90 min.
Preheat oven to 375 when dough cycle is finished.
Separate dough into 3 parts, and roll out 2 of them for pizza.

With the third part, I formed into balls and made dinner rolls, baked from my recipe for whole wheat rolls

I normally like to use Cha's pesto recipe and rub it on the dough after rolling it out, but I didn't have all the ingredients, so I just crushed 3 or 4 garlic cloves in 1 1/2 Tablespoons olive oil & spread it on dough! This makes such a HUGE difference in taste, if you like garlic, this is a step you do NOT want to skip!!

Add all your favorite toppings to the uncooked dough and bake on 375 for about 10-15 minutes, depending on your oven.

Our fav toppings:
Ragu pizza sauce, one jar is enough for two pizzas (found in the pizza making supplies aisle)
As you can see, I am the only one in our fam who likes pineapples on pizza... ;)
Turkey Pepporoni and Turkey Canadian Bacon
Kraft Pizza cheese, one bag for each pizza
Mushrooms
I also like to put baby spinach under the sauce (so the Hubby & kids don't see it!:)
